Hobbies 101: Stalking

I really love Libraries. I haven't been in one since February, but I went today.
They are fascinating. (Although I think that they should be little more exciting. Couldn't they at least paint the walls an entertaining color? Beige is very non-confrontational.) Libraries are nice because they have books, yes. But what I really love about Libraries is the kinds of people you see there. Librarians are pretty much all the same: Quiet and helpful...unobtrusive unless they are needed. But the people who visit!
Today I saw a mother and her skinny little daughter piling up dozens of books on a nearby table. And they were all books about birds and butterflies and gardens. They were so excited...they must have been planning some sort of paradise because within the hour they had about four pages of notes and had trouble keeping their voices down.
There was another gaunt man who had long gray hair down his back. His shoes were too dirty, his shorts too ragged. And there was a lovely bald spot exactly on the very top of his head. Every once in awhile he would sigh with a rattle in his throat. He never left the non fiction section...and ended up getting a book out about the French Revolution.
So yes...if you are an amateur stalker, the library is a great place to start!
No really, I just love people watching. It's a hobby of mine.
